Have you checked the weather this week? The forecast calls for HEAVY RAIN all week long! It’s time to prepare your house for the storm! Paul has some tips for you on how you can do that. Here is how you can prep for the big storm!
- Check and Clean your Sump Pump - as the storm hits, make sure to drain the water from your check valve by disconnecting and rinsing it. A wet vac can be used to clean up the excess water and debris in the sump pit.
- Install a Battery Backup Pump - Backup your house just in case that you lose power during the storm. A battery backup Sump Pump can provide pumping capability during power outages and offers several hours of additional protection. They are also used to supplement primary sump pumps.
- Install A Backup Gas Generator - Ensure your house does not lose power. Many times during these big storms especially, your home is more at risk to lose power.
- Install A Leak Detector - By placing a Wifi Leak Detector near any equipment that can potentially leak you can potentially save your home from flooding. The Wifi leak detector will alert you of any leaks before it gets bad. It will automatically send an alert to your phone and this will help you AVOID major damage to your home. If the power goes out, the leak detector will sound off an audible alarm alerting you of the trouble.
