  • Listen for any strange noises that may be coming from it. Usually when your sump pump is collecting water it makes a certain noise that is normal. If you start hearing something significantly different, then you probably have an issue that needs to be looked at.
  • If water is beginning to reach the top of your sump pump or flooding has begun, then you need to immediately replace or repair your sump pump IMMEDIATELY!
  • A normal sump pump usually lasts about 10 years or so. Sometimes it may last a little longer or even shorter but it is always a good idea to make yourself aware of it. It’s important every few months to check on it, make sure it’s functioning properly, and if it’s not call a professional right away.
