Best Setting for your A/C unit.

With the hot weather quickly approaching, it’s important to set your thermostat to the right temperature for many reasons. First off, every time you are lowering your thermostat, it will cost you. So, by setting the thermostat higher will help save you money on your energy and utility bill. The general setting that your thermostat should be at is 76 degrees when your home. Some people who like the heat more and want to save even more money may raise the temperature even higher. Research shows that you will save about 3 percent on your Air Conditioning costs by each degree raised.

It's also important to raise the temperature in your home while you are out because this can save you a lot of money on your utility bill. Some people may feel that 76 degrees is too warm but by preventing the warm air from coming into your house, the 76 degrees will not feel as hot. The smaller the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the lower your cooling bill will be.

It's also important to note that you should never set your thermostat colder than the normal level because it will not cool your home any faster and could result in an increase in your utility bill. Although you are trying to save money and energy, make sure the temperature is set at a comfortable level for your home.
