Protect your family from COVID-19 with a UV Light!

With the rapid spreading of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States, the world is on high alert to try and find solutions that can stop the spreading and destroy the viruses.

The UV light is a safe and effective way to stop the spread of Viruses.  Each day in the world you and your family bring different germs, viruses or other bacteria into your home.

According to the Field report, a Certain spectrum of UV light-UVC-has been proven to kill airborne viruses and it does so in a manner that presents no risk to humans. A study conducted by a group of scientists found that UVC had the ability to kill flu viruses when placed in germ-sensitive places like hospitals, airports and schools.

By introducing UV light into your airflow and ventilation systems, you will be better prepared to protect yourself from these harmful viruses.

FieldControls.com completed multiple independent lab tests to verify how the UV Light effected viruses and germs and they found out that it reduced test bacteria by 90% within 30 minutes!

Heat tracing- protect pipes from freezing

Heat Trace

It’s been a very cold winter so far and it’s important to make sure that your pipes can withstand the cold. That’s why it is extremely important for Heat Tracing. Heat tracing is used to maintain the temperature of Pipes.  The electric heating is achieved by using a resistant element that runs alongside the piping.  Trace Heating becomes an electrical heating element that runs in physical contact along the length of the pipe. That pipe is usually covered with thermals insulation to retain heat losses from the pipe. Heat Tracing is used to protect pipes from freezing and to maintain a constant flow temperature in hot water systems.

The primary function of heat trace cable systems Is to prevent freezing within water pipes and to prevent pipes from bursting. By maintain a certain temperature in the pipes, this will ensure that frost cannot build up and these pipes will freeze. Heat Tracing also provides heat maintenance and heat recovery in the process as well.  Self-regulating heating tape adjusts heat output to equal the amount of heat lost from the pipe work. Thermal insulation is also recommended on all types of heat trace applications. Without any insulation for the pipes, surface heat can approximately increase about 4-5 times.

Heat Tracing is extremely important this time of year. Industrial heat trace cables maintain the temperature of non-flowing fluids by replacing the heat lost through the thermal insulation on pipes, vessels and other equipment. We hit a very cold period from late December to early January, and many people had pipes that were not ready for that type of weather. Make sure this time around you are protected and don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for repairs. Call P.A.C. today to protect your pipes from busting or freezing!!

RHEEM water heaters

Water Heater Replacement

After a period, your Hot Water Heater will start breaking down and show signs of needing replacement. Here are a few ways to see when it’s time for replacement:

  1. Rust – Are you seeing rust around the pressure relief valve? If so, chances are there is rust inside the tank as well
  2. Age- How old is your water heater? A normal water heater will last about 8-10 years. If your water heater is older than that, time to CALL PAUL!
  3. Noise – If you are hearing strange noises coming from your Tank, there could be a buildup of sediment in your tank
  4. Leak- Do you notice any visual water around your tank? If so, this could be a big problem! You will want to call a plumber right away to make sure your tank is not about to burst.
  5. Not Heating properly- Sometimes when your water heater hits a certain point, it will not be able to supply hot water fast enough or in some cases none at all. It could be an issue with a component in the tank, the temperature of the water, or it could indicate that your water heater is almost at it’s end.

Have your air ducts cleaned

Why you need to have your Ducts Cleaned

According to the EPA, levels of air pollution inside the home can be two to five times higher than outdoor levels. The best way to get rid of these contaminants is to have your ducts professionally cleaned.

You should get our ducts cleaned if:

  1. You’ve noticed an unpleasant smell in your home
  2. Your registers are dirty
  3. You/your family has allergies and/or asthma
  4. You have young children or elderly family living with you
  5. You have pets
  6. You have smokers in your home

There are two ways to effectively clean your duct work; the negative air method and the brush and vac method. The negative air method involves blocking off all your air returns and vents, then cutting a hole in your duct work. A large hose is attached to the hole and a truck mounted vacuum sucks out the debris. This method works but can leave some material behind.

The Rototbrush and vacuum method is the way to go. Here are the steps we take when using the Rotobrush

  1. Start the process by removing all of your register covers and cleaning them thoroughly to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants.
  2. The technician next will feed a hose with a rotating brush head into your duct work and the real cleaning begins
  3. After the ducts are scrubbed clean, we fog them with an EPA -recommended antimicrobial mist that leaves a pleasant mint smell behind.

Customers are very pleased with the Air Duct Cleaning service and 75% if them also recommend the service to their friends and family!
